Summertime in the City

Now i aint posting this on no glamorizing shit......but this shit kinda disturbed me...and the story goes......

By TARYN ASHERFOX 2 News
DETROIT - Seven teenagers are shot at a bus stop in Detroit, victims of what's believed to be a planned hit. As they lay in hospital beds, police are searching for the gunmen currently loose on the streets. There have been no arrests, and authorities are working to enhance surveillance video.
Two young men used a Shell gas station at the corner of West Warren and Southfield in Detroit to scope out their target. Police say they covered their faces, pulled out their guns, walked over to a nearby bus stop, called out a name and then fired a barrage of bullets into the crowd, shooting seven teens. Six of them are students at Cody Ninth Grade Academy ranging in age from 14 to 17 years old.
Police have now confiscated a surveillance video recorded at the Shell station and are using it to track down the shooters believed to be in their teens.
Authorities are still actively looking for the shooters who took off running down Longacre, hopped into a green minivan and sped away. Dogs were brought in to search for the suspects and their weapons. While that effort was unsuccessful, police did eventually locate a green minivan a mile away on Joy Road. Evidence technicians examining the vehicle to see if this is the same one used in the getaway.
This shooting was the second in two weeks a Detroit public high school offering summer classes. Witnesses tell FOX 2 the shooting was retaliation from a previous argument.
"We have not confirmed where this all initiated from. We're investigating that as we speak," said Detroit Police Dep. Chief Rod Liggons.
Police have still not released the names of the seven victims, four males and three females, nor have they released the surveillance video.
A Detroit Police source tells FOX 2 that two of the teens are in critical condition and another is in temporary serious condition at Sinai-Grace Hospital. In total, paramedics brought two boys, ages 14 and 16, and a girl, age 17, to Sinai-Grace.
Three other teenage students were taken to Henry Ford Dearborn Hospital. A fourth, 19-year-old victim is also being treated, but it is unknown if he is a student. FOX 2 has been able to confirm that all four victims brought to that hospital have non-life threatening injuries.

A year + A day = Prison Time...1 year anniversary of Hot Soup

Yep its a classic....
Say what u want but on July 1st 2008 i released in my opinion my opus...this album was about the one thing that made me who i am...Detroit...it was about everything that was goin on in my life at the time...the story of Hot Soup actually starts in the year of 2002....fresh off a distribution and manufacturing case that i got probation for i decided to stop hustling and start doing what i felt i was put on this planet for and thats record music...so when i started i hooked up with the Eastside Chedda Boyz .....word...i was cool with Tuff Tone me and him use to battle everyday in high school(Northwestern)...to be exact..and when the song "Oh Boy" took off i hooked up with him to use they studio and start recording...it was a good look...but we all know the production style of The Chedda Boyz really didnt sit to well with me...so i was looking for some dope producers which lead me to meeting Bird....who was Denaun Porter's understudy at the time...he gave me a sweet deal on some beats and i started recording in a studio that him and Denaun shared in Greenfield Plaza....Which i titled "Hot Soup"...which the title is actually a play on "Illmatic"....the story of the title of Illmatic is that is was some type of lunchbox/cooler type joint called "Chillmatic"....but the c and h was missing and Nas thougt that was a dope word...and i was like shit chill which is cold....so i said hot ...and thouth about all the words that goes with it...after a couple wack ones...i came up with soup...which took on its own meaning to me...the quote is "when u get sick of wack music, get some Hot Soup".....sad to say that project never saw the light of day...got spins in my hood which some say that was the illest shit i did...which i think its the wackest....but i scrapped it and started working on the Resevor album which i will blog about later...so after all the shit we did with the Resevor album which was getting a meeting with
Roc-a-Fella Records....it was that Hot Soup album that got them to start fucking wit me....i recorded another album titled "Browntown" that never saw the light of day ....smh @ Roc a Fella
which i will post soon...so after i got home from NY caught another case and had to do 8 months...i wrote non stop in jail ....and pretty much wrote Hot Soup...me and Speed planned on making this album in 2003 .....so January of 2008 we decided that we was gonna finally make the album that we wanted to hear...we would talk all the time about making a album strictly dedicated to Detroit music done very classy that sounds dirty and brought drama and comedy at the same time...so after DSOM 3 which i recorded 3 songs off of Speed beats...we had our start...so Speed started making beats 24/7 and we was working on this album from Jan-June...i had started back hustling so i took whatever i could stack up and put it all into that album which was every bit of $3500 and havent looked back since....i havent sold a bag since then...and every now and then i will shoot a lil move nothing serious tho...cant say i went cold turkey but i been way more focused on music....so i wanna thank u to everyone that supported it....

"ughhh nigga u gay" (c)Riley

As long as i can remember i was the biggest M.J. fan ..... word i had every album(up till Bad)..had the doll.....bed spreads curtains....i dressed like him 3 times for Holloween...use to watch Thriller to go to bed at night...i even just magically appeared home from kindegarden one day and told my moms Mike walked me home...lol..(true story i dont remember but i heard that story far to many times) but when i was in 3rd grade i rocked a M.J. tee to school and mad niggas was saying i was gay...and teased me all year for that shit...which is why i dont fuck wit M.J. anymore...but imma say my peace in this blog and i bet them same niggas that called me gay are prolly dick-riding mike right now...but anyway...Thanks Mike for everything u inspired millions (but i still think u touched them kids tho) Rest in Peace and i hope Blanket follows in ya footsteps(minus the molestation shit)R.I.P Micheal Jackson

"Kick, Push"

Dax Miller and Pat Washington are the Lil Wayne and Drake of the skateboard game right now..

"and u say Chi-City"

so word imma be Chicago next month....my first time rocking in Chicago so i shud be pretty dope....so if u in the Chi July 18th come out and see some real hip-hop word...me and Finale gone go in so get ready...

"La-La-la-la Wait till i get my money right" (c)Yeezy

A couple months ago Japan designer Ato Matsumoto dropped these dope Baseball High Trainer's which to my surprise i havent seen anyone wit em....but i see mad niggas rock them Cow hide Boot rip off which u guys call Yeezy's but i just call em "Cheesy's"...lol...which lead to believe alot of niggas are followers with this fashion shit ...shout out to Fiddy War Angel Lp("so if a nigga put on a dress")...lol...but i bet if Kanye wasnt busy promoting the "Cheesy's" or those dope ass LV joints he'd be rocking them and id be seeing scenesters every where with these joints on.... dont worry tho....because these are on my "2 be copped" list

2K10 Rookie of the Year

So Far Gone

So Detroit City Council member Monica Conyers got indicted for bribery....lol...ha....and it makes me think who in this state thats in politics aint dirty? ...She admitted taking at least $6,000 from Detroit businessman Rayford Jackson to change her vote in favor of a $1.2-billion sludge disposal contract in 2007.....6000?....thats all it takes to buy a politician round this bitch....this really shows how grimey and fucked up this city we call the "D"....word ...now she faces up to 5 years in jail and prolly wont do a day...due to her husband U.S. Rep. John Conyers...now i can keep goin in on this but....imma just let the video below show why i dont feel sorry for her...but she is pretty funny and quite gangsta if i might add

Kevin Hart-Im A Grown Little Man

If this was a album it would be "Dare iz a Darkside"

"So Emotional" (c) Carl Thomas

I will not be purchasing Fight Night 4....as much as i love it but i will be honest and say...Fight Night gets me emotional...i mean when u lose u actually feel like u just got ya ass kicked...and sometimes after its over with i really be feeling like whooping the nigga ass that just beat me...even tho i know most of the niggas i fucks wit can prolly smash me in a 1 on 1 fight...that thought still run across my mind as soon as i feel the match coming to an end like "i should just sneak this nigga right now"...but violence isnt always the answer and plus that would be a sore loser....lol...so i know one of my homies a prolly cop and i can check it out and if its thats dope imma cop it for 1 player mode to try to win it all with Tyson...ive been playing F.N. since it was called Knockout Kings so i dont think im missing out on much and plus Tarver is not in the game and that was my favorite fighter from 1 and 2...so no worries i will not be getting my ass kicked anytime soon for starting a fight after i lost in Fight Night 4

"I think i just threw up in my mouth" (c) Me "Contra"

So i will be buying a Playstation 3 soon....idk how i really feel about that now ....because i totally fronted on the console when it first dropped...i mean of course i adored the PS 2 but since Xbox has came into the fold that little controller just doesnt feel that gangsta anymore....but if its one game thats gonna make me cough up those extra bucks...it will be "God of War 3" with my nigga Kratos one of favorite characters in video games right now.... i mean G.O.W 1 is a classic....and 2 didnt disapoint....if its to games im checking for right now it has to this and "Bioshock 2" ......

This Perfect Life

So officially today Blake Griffin becomes a millionaire ..... i mean he prolly already one we know how college basketball is the biggest gimmick in sports but whatever...so im thinkin bout if Blake will be able to the same thing in the league he did in college.....one thing i can say about him is hes a speedster....he can run the floor...idk what type of shit the Clippers gonna be on but in order for Blake to be effective in there offense there gonna have to run the floor...hes a bit undersized but shit the Clippers got Kaman and Camby....not to say they're in playoff contention but Blake should help them so i will be tuning in tonight to the NBA draft to see what the hell the Pistons do .....OMG.....im still mad about "Darko"....SMH

FiyahWerks

Last night in Detroit it was the River Days Festival....which is known to us natives simply as "da fiya-werks" .....the thing is alot of people dont really go anymore due to a fear of violence and i understand em no one wants to be a innocent bystander during a Cartier snatching gone wrong...so me myself i was actually waiting to cut on the news to see all the drama that usually ensues every year...and to my surprise nothing really happened....and that might be because of all the police presence...i went to a party in corktown last night and was stuck in traffic so long that by the time we got there the shit was not popping...word to Count Macula...but now im disapointed in myself because its like we are just counting on something bad to happen ....which sucks ....i think thats the mentality we are brainwashed with in the D.....so i hope everyone who attended had a great time and come out to the same next year...thats a day for the kids and thats what it should be about....but in Detroit i think its pretty much like 1 bad apple spoils the bunch....or maybe 1000....but u get my what im trying to say(type)...i mean we got this reputation that makes people so terrified of this city ....when u can really enjoy yourself here....i mean it beautiful to me (in a aftermath of a war kind of way)....i mean the horror of the scenary in the D is actually breathtaking in its own chaotic masterpiece...i walk around feeling like im in a Basquiat/Warhol collaboration....just look around threw all the abondoned burnt up buildings its art.....and one thing i can say is i love my city...and might even try to go the "FiyahWerks" next year

Drake's 1st Single

yes the fucking best....thats right just found em on a site for 390.00 bucks ....this is by far my favorite shoe of all time and cant wait to see how they look with a pair of skinnies...i remember when these came out they were 180.oo bucks i could not afford that...the only nigga that had em in our hood(linwood)...was a local corner hugger word to Chris Hype...but yea these are the fucking best and shout out to Tinker Hatfield he went in on these...the thing about em that impressed me was...even tho they kinda hard to put on...but they never get dead(raggedy)...i swear imma do a slang editorial for yall word to Cappadonna...but dog u take a wet rag or one of those magic eraser joints and they brand new everytimg the only is the sole might get discolored but long as u keep that clear gum sole intact u good....word to Penny and lil Penny 2

P.O.S. - P.O.S. is Ruining My Life-Live

R.I.P Stack Bundles

Stack Bundles is my inspiration .... his work ethic...his fashion sense...his views on life...his outlook on music...everything ....i respect that man so much its not funny...like if he was around right now the NY hip hop scene would be so different right now....u can hear Stacks in my music...imma do my best to rep the best of this generation in my opinion...and make sure niggas know that if Stack's was around u niggas wouldnt have a chance...shout out to Far Roc

Forever Changes

If u dont know my favorite band and one of my favorite albums was made by Love Forever Changes i love that album the one-liners on that shit is crazy "the stories of today will be a movie tomorrow" is my favorite and i even used it on "2 Steps Back" from Hot Soup but Arthur Lee is by far my favorite musician ever and i study him alot so i want as many to people to know how important he is to music so get ya google on and do ya homework.....i even have plans of one day shooting a movie about Love with me playing Arthur Lee....let me chill...im getting to big for my skinnies now...GNR

Is Jerkin the new Breaking?

Is Jerkin the new breaking?....thats my question....is it?...well the answer to me is yes....one thing i noticed is that even with all the instructional dances thats been coming out lately...its still considerd to be kinda gay/soft to dance....im from Detroit we jit....ganstas jit...and its the same way with jerking ....or juking in Chicago...in LA u can have a nigga straight banging but he rocks skinny jeans and he jerks and he a still kill u....the difference to me with the jerk and the dances that Soulja Boy create is that u really have to know how to dance to jerk...u have to be in shape..that shit does not look easy and trust me u will not catch me trying...i will stick to the jit my nigga but dont get it confused this shit is hip hop...the "you're a jerk" song by New Boyz is a fun song and its dope...and if u listen to what these kids is doing u will notice they doing what they feel and thats what hip hop is about right being u....shot out to Dollah Jones "Bang it" the song from the jitting vid is hard...

IRock Skinnies

..... u see it..the hardest group ever rocking skinny jeans....and i know u saying yeah all the ol skool niggas wore em thats how niggas rocked....right...but when did niggas start rocking em baggy....maybe Mc Hammer....kinda correct...but i remember as a kid niggas wasnt paying attention to how tight ya pants was...which i think is the "gayest" shit in the world...why u care bout how another nigga dressed...u post to care bout how a bitch dressed...not a nigga my gee...thats a homo trait...now me personally i can care less what a nigga got to say bout me and furthermore i dont dress for a niggas attention or co sign....i do it for the bitches...lol..(26 inches looking down on yalll)in my chopped and screwed voice...GNR...but how many of yall remember when the sagging of ya jeans started...yea Kriss Kross Nigga....besides it being a trend in prison to let niggas know u like getting that booty tampered with...lol..so yea nigga when u putting on ya baggy jeans remember that trend got started by Hammer and Kriss Kross....so what u wanna be Hammer or NWA?....u decide but me i will be copping those nice pair of Wesc jeans u see at the top....

Blackreign & Ohkang - Say it with Finesse

This shit is Dope

Im not a Hipster, Nigga imma Hippie

Birfdhey $<+

So word .....right now i have a problem with R&B music its prolly the same problem muthafuckas have with hip hop....but to me R&B is really lacking in the creavtive department and all the songs tend to sound the same(yea its just like rap)but anyway one song in particular which i actually think is a dope song and thats "Birthday Sex"
by Jeremiah now the song reminds me of some ol school Guy-Aaron Hall type shit with weaker vocals....no diss just Aaron Hall use to damn near tear his adam apple when he got excited listen to end of "Dreaming" if u think im lying....but actually the problem i have with this song is not the song or the artist....just the immaturity of program directors at radio stations for not censoring the song...because to me they are putting something childrens heads thats not so cool....i have a daughter never heard her sing the song but im pretty sure she does/have due to the fact that
thats her moms preference of music...now on a childs birthday they expect gifts maybe a party, a cake,....now they're gonna be expecting sex,..lol...word...cause now that thoughts in they head like "the grown-ups have sex on they birthday"...so thats what im gonna do ....trust me this song wont erase from they're memory when they are 16....they gonna remember when i was in the 4th grade it was this song called birthday sex and they will act on it....i mean imma keep it real its not like these kids are not gonna do it anyway but i think that song is very encouraging...
SO TURN OFF THE RADIO, TURN OFF THAT BULLSHIT

Baby..

Summer is here and its like Do the Right Thing round this bitch...

3rd Times A Charm

So yea i comes back to the D and plays my songs for my friends and they all was tripping like Brown this shit is retarded we should press these shits up u know sell em ....whatever i had plans to start selling other stuff...lol whatever so by now im already hustling and the summer is here but for the past couple years prior to me getting locked up i spent my 4th of July in Ny...Crown Heights Brooklyn lil block party like jumpoff...dope shit i love New York...so b4 i left i bought a Ipod without having a computer(nigga shit)...so i would go over Nick Speed crib to put music on it and he put alot of beats on it...bad idea Speed lol....so im listening to these beats and found some joints so i hooked my Ipod up to a cd burner and took the beats ....it was a hot summer in Queens at Fire and Ice it was full fledge summer so niggas wasnt at the stu like that so i gotta chance to really get it in and this was the start of "Hot Soup" because i recorded 3 songs there that we ended up using for it....i remember soon as i finished it we took it up to King Magazine to play it for Datwon who is now editor of XXL in that meeting with him he gave me alot of advice which i will share later in a post...but what i was trying to show with D.S.O.M 3 was consistency and i think i proved well cause after that mixtape niggas started taking notice....and b4 i knew it i was getting all types of love and shows and people where getting intereseted in my music so yea like the saying goes "3rd times a charm"

D.S.O.M Pt. 2

So if u look at the first post u will notice i said "what a difference 3 years make"...but it was actually 4....its just that the year of 2006 is like a blur to me i got locked up in March of 06 and sentenced to a year...it was first time being locked up that long but yea when u in Rome u yea yea u get it...so i took my time and made use of it....i never called home and rarely wrote letters.....and one of my hobbies of course was writing rhymes .....now i smoke alot of weed and it ususally helps the process but now im locked up and im trying to come up with rhymes with a "sober mind" for the first couple months i couldnt do it ......it was like everything i wrote sucked...but then i forced myself i said everyday at the same time imma write a verse...and ended up leaving with like four notepads worth of rhymes....i got released in November of 06...got out early for good time actually i still had to do some extra weeks from my original out date cause i got caught smoking squares...but thats a different story...so i got out chilled the next couple months just getting back chilling with my family enjoying the holidays...but soon as Jan. came i was on the greyhound going back to NY....straight to Queens to record at Fire and Ice studios.....home of my homey Ru Spits ...but this studio was also frequented by other artist such as Maserati Foxx and the Dumbouts (what up Ferrari Trav) Nicki Minaj of Lil Wayne or Gucci Mane crew however u call it ....Stack Bundles(R.I.P) and Gravy(from the Notorious movie) i said that not to name drop but to say the studio had changed from just me and Ru recording to now having to share time with all these artist..... S.A.S would come thru whenever they was here....Remo the rapstar alot of niggas...so anyway im trying to write this mixtape and its confusion goin on and for the first time in my life i was doubting myself i was trying to write songs and it just wasnt working....cause i like to write to beats so i wasnt using the jail rhymes just for lines from time to time....but it wasnt working i was damn near in tears havent rapped in 8 months or recorded and i felt like i lost it...now b4 i got locked up i was listening to Donuts religiously...so most of the rhymes i wrote were to those beats...in my head...so i took the rhymes and put em to the Donut beats i wrote em to....and recorded em and niggas blacked.... u had all these people who never really heard Dilla music like that blacking out...niggas was like "Brown u better than ever"...and that gave me the confidence to finish the mixtape but when i look back and think like damn i was near tears trying to put that shit together i know that it was all worth it..cause to me Pt 2 is the best body of music i ever recorded ....i never say this cause id rather let someone else say it but in my catalog of music D.S.O.M Pt.2 is a classic knowing everything that went into it
