So if u look at the first post u will notice i said "what a difference 3 years make"...but it was actually 4....its just that the year of 2006 is like a blur to me i got locked up in March of 06 and sentenced to a year...it was first time being locked up that long but yea when u in Rome u yea yea u get it...so i took my time and made use of it....i never called home and rarely wrote letters.....and one of my hobbies of course was writing rhymes .....now i smoke alot of weed and it ususally helps the process but now im locked up and im trying to come up with rhymes with a "sober mind" for the first couple months i couldnt do it ......it was like everything i wrote sucked...but then i forced myself i said everyday at the same time imma write a verse...and ended up leaving with like four notepads worth of rhymes....i got released in November of 06...got out early for good time actually i still had to do some extra weeks from my original out date cause i got caught smoking squares...but thats a different story...so i got out chilled the next couple months just getting back chilling with my family enjoying the holidays...but soon as Jan. came i was on the greyhound going back to NY....straight to Queens to record at Fire and Ice studios.....home of my homey Ru Spits ...but this studio was also frequented by other artist such as Maserati Foxx and the Dumbouts (what up Ferrari Trav) Nicki Minaj of Lil Wayne or Gucci Mane crew however u call it ....Stack Bundles(R.I.P) and Gravy(from the Notorious movie) i said that not to name drop but to say the studio had changed from just me and Ru recording to now having to share time with all these artist..... S.A.S would come thru whenever they was here....Remo the rapstar alot of niggas...so anyway im trying to write this mixtape and its confusion goin on and for the first time in my life i was doubting myself i was trying to write songs and it just wasnt working....cause i like to write to beats so i wasnt using the jail rhymes just for lines from time to time....but it wasnt working i was damn near in tears havent rapped in 8 months or recorded and i felt like i lost it...now b4 i got locked up i was listening to Donuts religiously...so most of the rhymes i wrote were to those beats...in my head...so i took the rhymes and put em to the Donut beats i wrote em to....and recorded em and niggas blacked.... u had all these people who never really heard Dilla music like that blacking out...niggas was like "Brown u better than ever"...and that gave me the confidence to finish the mixtape but when i look back and think like damn i was near tears trying to put that shit together i know that it was all worth it..cause to me Pt 2 is the best body of music i ever recorded ....i never say this cause id rather let someone else say it but in my catalog of music D.S.O.M Pt.2 is a classic knowing everything that went into it
